Hashtag Highlight #25

We’re catching up on some highlights this busy month. We received inspiration in the mail, made a cool Power Ranger rag doll, built a bridge to span the coast and lots of mommy and me hand pint fun while we felt so Pinspired @createstudio

Weekly WoW!

On a mission to a make Blob Fish, Ava wasted no time looking for the right things to make it happen. You know a funny fact about blob fishes is, they really are blobs (boneless wonders) who live on the ocean floor, with the pressure of the vast ocean weighing on them. There is another funny trait, they happen to be pink.
As luck always seems to have it at CReATE, we had just the right stuff on hand. The blob itself was born from the sleeve of a pink dress shirt, the nose; one part foam ball, one part pink sock and the famous blob fish lips were a scrap of t-shirt hem.
Thank goodness her dad was such a good assistant. He helped bring Ava’s vision to life. This guy is awfully cute for being a creature that lives at the bottom of the sea, just being blobby.

Paint was the inspiration here!
Jenna loved the way it felt cool and silky on her hands. She and her mom had a great idea to make a Thanksgiving Turkey handprint. It turned out so well, they thought they would make some more. Then a bigger idea came.. make Turkey prints to send to all the family for the special Thanksgiving day!

Weekly WoW!

Brads.
It is so neat to see what sparks imagination.
It can be something obvious or obscure. I watched as Lauren wandered about the studio clutching the cool star shaped brads she had found. All the while her creative wheels turned. Finally, she asked for paper. After pointing her in the right direction  I stepped away to help someone else. A bit later I walked by a work table and saw this tiny treasure, a moving parts doll no taller than a match stick laying in wait on the table. A moving paper doll was what she made.

Say it with Paper!
Two young brothers came into the studio with a mission in mind! They wanted to make something special for their dad who will be returning home from overseas. What better way to tell him they love him than to put words to paper with rubber stamps and masking tape.
Hallmark would be so proud. I know their dad will be too.
