A Place For Everything…

“A Place for everything, everything in it’s place”. Benjamin Franklin
After much thought and processing about the recycling/disposal receptacle needs at the studio, I found these great stackable, open fronted bins at The Container Store. Since I put them to work with a strip of Chalkboard Sticker denoting what each bin will receive, I feel a funny sense of peace that comes from Ben Franklins old adage, a place for everything, everything in it’s place. When I have a place to put something I’ll put it there and that’s a two fold win, I don’t create clutter around the studio by leaving stray things in places that are meant to be free and available like counter and table tops and more importantly I am not going for the quick fix by throwing it in the trash.
I had learned this lesson as I developed bin collections at the studio about cast-off items and ways to reuse them but It’s so much more in line with my deepening connection to sustainability and the care and keeping of our planet. Seeing what goes where helps us all, even our customers connect to where things go when we’re done with them.
Do you like this idea? Give the Iris Stackable Bins a try, they come in different sizes and fit right into family life. Let us know what you think if you do, after all, we are all in this together. A place for everything, everything in it’s place. Thank you Benjamin Franklin. He really knew his stuff!
