At CReATE every day is recycle day but setting aside a special time to rally extra hard, to create awareness, to grow good habits is a welcome thing for sure. We are proud to be part of this good habit by practicing the three R’s with a special emphasis on Reuse.
Let’s keep America beautiful & creative!

Saturday, November 14, 2015Friendship makes the world a better place. That’s what Audrey & Haylie think. They spent their creative time at studio making matching necklaces out of tin container lids to commemorate their special bond. They had a great time collaborating on the overall look their necklaces would have and were proud with big smiles when their matching projects were done. What a great connection. I am sure they are wearing them fondly this week.

Monday, November 9, 2015We have shared a whole lot of love @createstudio on instagram this week through thankfulness; thanks for pets, rainbows, donations, expressions, craftiness, and a visit with our friends at The Hideout Playground.

Sunday, November 8, 2015Eva came up with a very clever reuse for T.P. rolls by converting them into the fall message, Autumn. I love the way this creation captures the concept of limitless possibilities. Eva took a few ordinary items and put them together in an unusual way.
Over the years I have always seen cardboard rolls used in their circular state so, seeing them flattened with a word display struck me as delightfully different. WOW!
The mind is a wondrous place.

Wise Words…
Thursday, November 5, 2015As Ben Franklin once said, Waste not, want not.
The idea is simple. If we use what we have we discover we have a bounty. Nothing is missing, no shortage occurs.
At the studio we find that using what we have is boundless fun! We tend to think of more possibilities. Our ideas grow and grow, not to mention we become more thoughtful about our planet. He was wise, that Ben and he was onto something good.

Sunday, November 1, 2015Creativity seems to be the power that makes the wheels of imagination turn. When the power is turned on, the ideas just keep coming. That’s how it seemed for Jack as he built his robot man. Bits and pieces were coming together in a way that felt so fun for him, he spent the whole two hour session working on it. I wonder if this is how George Lucas felt as he developed the first characters for Star Wars? WOW.

Friday, October 30, 2015Albert Einstein ought to know…
When I think of creativity and the ways I see it expressed at the studio I am reminded that it is the way we process our thoughts into ideas. We are wired to conjure possibilities and solve challenges in all our daily affairs. Art is a realm where creativity is easily recognized, but creativity spreads vastly beyond that means. Whether we create something to look at, a recipe, a detailed spreadsheet or a book report we apply our creativity.
How are you expressing that part of yourself today?
