Hurray for Girls Club!

We are so happy to be a part of Cindy Willimas’ Girls Club movement. Hosted at CReATE, Cindy’s meetings tailored to 4&5th grade girls with an emphasis on individuality, confidence, respect, kindness and friendship fortified girls with the tools they’ll need to feel good about who they are in our fast paced world and contribute with confidence.

Learn more about Cindy by clicking the Conejo Valley Advuce Givers Podcast link below. Hear from an interview with  Jay and Michelle Leiberman where she came from and what she stands for. Our girls need a guide like her.

Ice Cube Painting!

Painting with colored ice cubes is a definiate must try. We did it during our Messy Toddler Art class yesterday.

Liquid water color or any water based paint mixed with water should do the trick. It’s so much fun!

Machine Sewing at CReATE

Saying it with stitches. Heart love in the afternoon with our machine sewing classes. That’s hands-on skill building fun!

Get Messy!

We deem Fridays Messy Art Days! Come one, come all and get messy!

Hands on.

This week in our Girls Club Class we put some focus on Social Media and Self as a follow up to our physical self ideas from last week. The girls made Faux Cell Phones and created apps for them the represent activities they can enjoy without being on their phones.

Top choices were baking, singing, dancing, bowling, diy crafting and making homemade ice cream to name a few. Everything was hands-on and had no space for a phone in hand.

It’s about how we feel when we are doing, not how others look.

Project Sewing.

Spent an afternoon with clever Project Sewers. Olivia decided she’d need a water bottle holder when she’s out running. Every bit of her project used to have a different fabric life. Now, revamped, the fabrics and Olivia get to run free with new purpose!

It’s how you see it…

For our Girls Club Confidence and Creativity class today the girls made faux mirrors that reflect our beautiful inner qualities instead of outter appearances.

Looking good!

Happy January!
