Creating at home #11

Thankful day 12 is Creating at home idea number 11- make a Thanksgiving pop-up card to send to family near or far.

You’ll need two pieces of paper that you can color or paint, markers, pencils or paint and glue (a glue stick and 8x11size paper works great)
Before creating your design lay the two pieces together and fold them in half, sideways.
Then, take the top of the inside paper and at the fold line, fold it diagnally like a triangle-you choose how big or small this fold will be . It will be the pop-out part of your card.
Then decorate your papers as you would like, one to be the inside of the card and one to be the outside, and glue them together leaving the top pop-out corner free to move facing inward.

Presto, you have a cool card to share!

The little things..

Thankful day 6 is about making something to say you care. A blank piece of paper with some doodles will do just fine.

Its a lasting treasure from the heart.

Crafternoons…

Our Friday Crafternoon project was a throwback craft making badge buttons to connect to 70’s and 80’s roots. Our Badge-A-Minit machine never let’s us down for fun.

Creative?

Do you think your not creative?

Think again.

I just finished Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert it confirmed what I have come to know, that we are all creative!

I highly recommend getting your hands on a copy to tune yourself into you and your creative flow.

You can also come spend time at CReATE with us where creativity is the name of the game.

Be you.

Creating At Home Idea #11

Thankful day 2 is one of our yearly repeat ideas, this time as  “Creating At Home Idea Number 11″ make a word banner that inspires grateful thoughts at your house. We like the word Thanks but we also like Bounty and Family as easy ideas.

You will need  a few sheets of paper or pieces of cardboard ( cereal boxes are great for this) to cut your letters. We made our letters about 6” tall.  Next you can hole punch one or two times per letter to thread string, yarn or ribbon through and voila! You’ve got a banner to don your fireplace or featured wall for an extra Thankful month.

Hands-on…

Our Weekly WOW wasn’t a singular project this week. It was a mode of creativity, one that ripples far and wide when it comes to learning. Oak Hills students had a very Hands-On experience during their field trip to CReATE for a project based  learning experience.

WOW hands-on is, was and always will be the greatest resource for learning. That’s the wow in wow. Try it, work it, make it. That’s the way to learn

Nice…

We love a nice Friday Crafternoon and Melted Crayon Pumpkins made it so. This is one for the bucket list.

It was wild to watch the melty mess swirl around our happy pumpkins. More Crayons was the chant.

Ahh…

It was a pleasure to be a part of Campus Canyon Elementary Schools Reflections workshops and art show.  Last night as the “What Is Your Story” theme wove through the creative projects of K-8th graders works, the sky was doing some creating of its own.

Wows all around!

Go with it!

Kara is quite the entrepreneur. She started a buisness during our Girls Club meeting today making personalized jars for all!

It’s fun to see inspiration at work.

Found this word treasure on Pinterest and it reminded me of how much messy fun we like to have at CReATE!
