Exploring…

This troop came to CReATE to work on their drawing patch, taking the same image and using two different mediums to draw it. Being Girls Scouts, the girls got right in the groove of using resources wisely by painting on recycled paper and making take home canvases from an Amazon Shipping box. What a fun Saturday afternoon.

Mixed.

Loving this mixed media portrait with Grandma. Love brings out the best in people.

Everything unfolded. First came the styrofoam sheet, then the twigs, the story was set with an od to beloved Grandma, then the painting flowed. It’s marvelous to watch a creators process unfold into the story it wants to tell. This one appears to be a love story or a story of love in its purest form.

This was just a little of the fun we had a Girls Club Strong at CReATE today.

Boo!

Joey’s getting in the Halloween spirit with his boo bat in a bag.

Spooky fun is just a bin away at CReATE where fun seasonal materials are available all the year round.

Come play!

Flying…

What started as a messy rock painting morning quickly turned to giant paper airplanes made from book covers donated by our friends at The City of Thousand Oaks.

We were coloring, taping and flying all around the studio.

Woo Hoo!

Wow!

Remember Aavah’s sewing idea from our Project Sewing class last week?

Here’s the finished product she made.

She learned how to make bunting, consider spacing for her letters , sew a rag garland and attach it to her bunting. Now she’s super skilled!

Well done Aavah!

Happy Thursday!

It’s a great day to create your way and it’s Homeschool Thursday to boot! We’re open for hands-on fun from 11am-6pm today. We can’t wait to see you!
