Can you imagine?

To think these delicate little paper cups would be thought of as trash.

Thank goodness our CReATE community recognizes potential and sent them our way as a donation. We’ll be featuring them in our February “Material Of The Week” line-up. Can’t wait to see what they become!

Making birthday party friends at CReATE is easy. A little imagination, some awesome supplies and it happens, crafty friends are made.

It’s how you see it…

For our Girls Club Confidence and Creativity class today the girls made faux mirrors that reflect our beautiful inner qualities instead of outter appearances.

Looking good!

Happy January!

We’re excited to be underway with a month of fun!

Check out our happenings to see what’s in store all month long at createatudiofun.com/happenings/

and CReATE with us!

Reuse!!

We are so excited about this donation to the studio. It will make awesome reuse of campus crayons.

We’ll melt them down into the molded shapes to make new fun and funky crayons to share with kids in need through our non-profit, CReATE ON YOUR CAMPUS.

Stay tuned for more on this adventure!

Quality…

Sometimes creating is about quantity, it’s mostly about quaLity. Once in a while we have a meeting of the two as in this case. Many of these are functional as well as aestheticly pleasing for

Giorgianna (9). She enjoys miniature things.

Cool!

The newspaper is top notch for staying informed and still so for all of its reuse abilities. Take these newspaper straws, just a quick roll up with a little tape and now we’ve got a whole new level of creative potential! We’re thinking they make a great material for a S.T.E.A.M. project for starters!

Gifts!

We had a fun and festive field trip morning with the K/1 kids from O.P.E.N. Classroom of Thousand Oaks.

They made personalized holiday ornaments and keepsakes of their own designs for family and friends from wood blocks and such.

Up until recently we showcased a “Weekly WOW” creation when it became clear that there were way more WOWS than weeks.

When creativity is expressed, its inevitably awesome every time.

This lil Martian is case in point.

Learning something new…

Remaking jewelry to earn a patch had it’s perks for these Girl Scouts.

During their visit to tge studio we talked about jewelry, the kinds there are, why it’s worn, how it’s worn in different parts of the world and learned to work with a few simple jewelry tools. The girls had so much fun taking apart broken and cast off jewelry that we keep on hand to make new pieces tgeyvwanted to wear and give. learning something new is part of what scouting offers and I’d say these girls did it in style.
