Even though the holidays are still far off, there is nothing like an ice cold snow man during the hot days of summer! This snow man is magical too with drift wood wings, a shamrock nose, pipe cleaner scarf, and foamy feet. The magic is the smiles that delight the faces of all who see this magical frosty.

Glass Jar
Sunday, August 28, 2011My Mom and Me.
Pretty things are always lovely to look at, they are even better when created by you! Here sits a sweetly decorated jar that once housed salsa. Now, it can keep any little treasure they like. Natalie and her mom worked together to pick just the right paper to decoupage the jar and the sparliest yarn to top the lid. They added the button finial on top to create the end result. The best part is, every time either of them look at the jar, they will remember their time making it together.

Industrial Thread Spool
Sunday, August 21, 2011And the award goes to…
A family award is a great idea, an item that signifies an achievement, a silly moment or marks a milestone. Erin and her kids were caught in a whirl of creativity that became a statue of silly affection for their family. The industrial thread spool made a great base for the doll head-leaving room for much more frill and since the spool is hollow secret notes can be tucked inside! Feathers and shred give her the GaGa she needed and a final twist of squiggly plastic made her complete. Watch out Oscar!

Sunday, August 14, 2011A Glass Soda Bottle
Sunday, August 7, 2011There are times when giving is at the root of inspiration.
This soda bottle was the perfect venue for saying I Love You to someone special. Using paint pens to draw butterflies and ladybugs the transformation from beverage container to flower container began, but the mesh vegetable bag and pretty ribbon closed the deal making this unique flower piece a one of a kind I love you statement.

Sunday, July 31, 2011Toys
Sunday, July 24, 2011On it’s own a nurf ball might be a bit boring. A magnetic dart might loose it’s pull. A toy drill bit no longer has a drill to fit. Now, the fun begins! Put these things together and voila! You have a new toy! With this little guy there are many new stories to tell thanks to a 6 year old mind and the “small treasures” bin at CReATE!

Plastic Easter Eggs
Sunday, July 17, 2011I have never met a plastic egg I didn’t like, this includes these ninja bird eggs made to protect and serve their makers.
These little guys are so cleverly disguised, you would never know they were once Easter treats. A little yarn, some googly eyes, a floppy disk and a few pen parts make these characters nifty ninja knights!
What fun imagination is!

Paint Chips
Monday, July 11, 2011Looking for an idea for table decorations I took a flip through the IDEA BOOK one afternoon and found a tear sheet from Family Fun Magazine to create this little bird. I chose paint chips from the “Paint Chips and Photo Pieces” bin for colorful flair. It was so easy to put together thanks to our trusted glue guns I was able to create a whole collection of rainbow birdies for my table display. What a happy result!
