Weekly WOW!
This little treasure is a great use of random studio materials! Looks like we have everything from the kitchen counter tile bits to wine corks to happy meal toys to vitamin boxes to bottle caps and more. They were put together in a clever way to become a horse and rider off to grand adventures I am sure.

What could be sweeter that a teens affectionate fondness in celebratory wishes to her parents. The license plate frame may have inspired her delivery but the sentiment was from her heart.
Nice job Mia.

This little birdie was so cleverly made. I was inspired to see a new use for masking tape to create a feathery creature who can hold their own.
Sweet.

Well, if these don’t make you smile, I don’t know what will.
Mama Leah and daughter Giavanna had a blast making these two rock friends with itty bitty seashells and fluffy feathers. That makes smiles all around.

We can always count on Martha Stewart for inspiration!
Leafing through one of our resource books by the crafting quru, Ramsey came across a project she couldn’t wait to do with painted rocks! She loves turtles and frogs so with a bit of hot glue and help from mom, she made herself a little menagerie. Her little sister even got to make a few mini lady bugs.
The felt so proud that they had turned plain rocks into pizzazzy pets.

Some of this, a sketch of that, Adam created a scene. Imagine a cheetah crossing paths with a lion who crosses paths with happy rubber man who fends off a batch of warriors who scale a skyscraper…
This is sounding like a very tall tale, one that I would love to hear.
Adam’s creation reminds me of how imagination flows, nearly a stream of consciousness in the open mind of a child, all that’s needed is some space to let it flow.

Lior loves earrings!
She was inspired by that fact to make herself an Earring Collector to keep and display all of her treasured goods. How clever she was to consider that her earrings could be set right into the cork for an easy grab and go at any time.
Ingenuity is just waiting to unfold in every one of us at any time. It’s just magical to see how often it surfaces in our D.I.Y. environment.

There’s gold in them that hills!
It’s so great to see how a school project can interpret the learning that has been done. The gold rush was an interesting time and one that is fun to learn about. With a simple shoe box and a few everyday items a tale is told about determining real gold and fools gold. This little box became a slice of living history for Alex.

Weekly WOW 5/8

Luke and his mom did a great job creating an arctic scene for his Habitat project to make a Polar Bear in it’s natural environment. I get cold just thinking about a frozen tundra and iceberg mountains.
No longer a shoe box and scraps of fabric and such, everyday materials were revamped to create a homey place where this bear and her cub feel right at home.
What a Win/Win!
