Weekly Wow!

It’s true, you learn something new every day.
As Amanda was adding finishing touches to her Raccoon habitat I inquired about something she had built into the tops of her trees. She told me that Raccoons make their nests in trees to stay safe from predators. Wow, I never knew that.
That moment reminded me just how valuable school projects can be. There is a whole layer of applied learning that happens when kids take information they have researched and discovered and apply it to a physical display of what that learning taught them. Amanda is a great example of this process and clever to boot. Her paper towel role trees and glittery night sky helped me feel like I was nesting with raccoons.
