At our birthday parties grown-ups tend to join in on the creative fun . This sock diva trio is case in point.
Dress up a sock with a bit of blind and it’s all good.
It’s so fun to watch adults tinker and explore the way they might have moons ago. We tend to get away from our creatively playful side as we grown into grown-uphood but we need this. We need to listen to our creative core. The whole world would be the better for it.

Thinking like a Maker
Thursday, February 25, 2016I have always felt like CReATE STUDIO is a Maker-type space where big possibilities can grow into tangible creations. The only diversion from Makerism we make is that we don’t (not just yet) build electric items a.k.a. machines, but we have all of the other aspects of this mindfulness in fill swing.
Perusing this weeks online issue of MAKE Magazine brought our maker point home, using a few household tin containers to make a wobbly robot. Check out their article if you want to go whole hog and get mechanical or come into the studio to make a bot using imagination as your power source. Being a maker means tinkering to explore creativity how ever you choose, the important part is engaging your imagination. Let’s all be Makers today and everyday. We see the wold with bigger possibilities and It’s good for the soul.

Weekly WOW!
Monday, February 22, 2016Anything is possible. It’s just a matter of dreaming it up.
Olivia is good at that, dreaming stuff up. She decided to make a Brownie vest for her American Girl doll, adding all the details to make it just like the real thing.
She made the official patches and tabs from bits of felt and little metal things.
It looks authentic to me and Girl Scout ready!

Weekly WOW!
Sunday, February 14, 2016Gavin had one objective in mind when he came to the studio with his grandma, to make a gift for his big brothers birthday the following day. After a brief Q and A as to where to begin it was decided that masking tape (his favorite material) be featured. Grandma cut the tape and Gavin places all of the tape and other pieces just so. I was impressed by his sense of composition and balance, creating a clean display of affection for his brother.
