Weekly WOW!

This little lady made these felt finger puppets all by herself she said, her mom only helped a little. That means that at age 5 she came up with the finger puppet idea,  the materials to use, the composition of the puppets and probably was even able to tell mom what to do to make it all happen .
The mind is a beautiful thing.

Plastic Counting Blocks!
These should be lots of fun to work with. Things that are square are super versatile when it comes to exploring creativity.

On the road…

Had a blast at Super Saturday at Oak Park High School today. We got crafty, valentiney and as always, green making stuff from stuff during this fine sustainable event on an  impressive eco campus. It is so nice to be surrounded by innovative thinkers and mindful community memebrs.

Win/Win fun!

Dulce (10) is going for “Most Creative” in her class with her Lioness valentine box. I think she’s got a good chance!
Projects like this where there is a seasonal connection to a project shared in the classroom keeps the spirit of fun in the air for all to enjoy. That’s a Win/Win for sure!

Exploring Machine Sewing

Working on her wild side during our Exploring Sewing class today. The kids were quick learners. Hopefully we’re planting a seed to grow lifelong sewers.

#createhearts

We are so excited for this season of hearts. We are back in the love groove, sharing hearts we see each day. Feel free to share hearts you find with us by tagging @createstudio and use the #createhearts hashtag.

Fuzzy Foam Pieces!
A little wild and wacky, these puzzly pieces are fun to fit together, stack, or rework in a million different ways. Let the fun begin!

Weekly WOW 1/25-1/31

WOW! This week I was taken by Justin’s creative process in making a marble maze with high points, low points and a trampoline made from rubber bands. He created from inspiration as he went. Sometimes he would nail something in, find it wasn’t right then take it out. He didnt waiver from his desire to make a fun ride for a marble! Failure wasn’t even a thing.
