WOW!
It’s awesome that painting is still a number one favorite for expressing creativity around here. The easels seem to call children to come closer and share a story. Sometimes the story is a tree, sometimes a flower, sometimes simply abstract. It’s fun to watch them unfold unabashed. Then there is this painting, an ode to Mom. There is a deep intention here to place honor and love. It is no wonder then, that it comes alive in full color, sharing itself with us.

There seemed to be a theme this week. We posted all things good, from a good news letter, to a friendly sock unicorn to a hefty donation for the studio to a fanciful coloring book to share to a princess to admire and a sweet yarn doll @createstudio on instagram. All is right in the world.

Well this sock unicorn takes the cake!
At the opener to one of our birthday parties yesterday, the birthday girl’s big sister crafted this fine creation from a less than fancy sock! I am told she is the crafty one in the house but WOW, she really caught the essence of magical kingdom-ness with just a few simple elements placed just the right way. Though she may be crafty, something tells me that she is simply tuned-in to her imagination. The sky is the limit when that is the case…

This week we are painting rocks galore and sure to have a blast with layers of paint, glue and one of our Toddler favorites, glitter!
Gardens everywhere are sure to be a little more festive after this messy session!
( due to a project swap we are painting rocks this week and made messy names last week)

Another week of wonder shared @createstudio on instagram. We’ve loved the beautiful sky patterns, some hot glue lovin’, super cool batteries charging, bitty bots, a chalkboard heart, a new version of the Rubbernecker game and the answer to the missing sock query. Whew!

Nolan loves to play games but often finds that he can think of better elements than the games his family buys have so, this week he came into the studio on a mission to make his version of the game “Rubberneckers”. Turns out his version has been quite an endeavor to embark on as he cut, stamped and stickered challenge cards for all 50 US States! As I watched him work with his mom I could see that he has been up to this challenge! I love that CReATE can be a place where big ideas can be explored.
Nolan says that for me to play his game I would have to go along for a ride in the car. His version looks so fun, I may just try to invite myself along sometime.
