Nothing says Happy Birthday to a Mommy like pretty flowers.
When a father and son came to the studio to make a birthday gift, they went over a variety of crafty considerations but that’s what they decided.
But, how?
They discussed, they formulated and they gathered. They were thoughtful and inspired by their love for mom. When they were done they had created this enchanting vase of paper flowers that says from their hearts, We Love You.

They’re not just for painting anymore, or at least for this week.
Due to an abundantly bountiful donation, we thought it would be fun to use some for art in another way, through the outta the box ideas we often at CReATE.

This week brought a fresh air view, a peep-hole view, a mini machine, a used paper plate and a tiny angel. Lots of fun @createstudio
All it took was the sight of a plastic helmet to ignite this knightly concept (complete with cardboard sword).
The mother/son duo had a blast becoming costume designers, looking through the costumes bins for all things pleather and cool. The way they worked the pieces they found was impressive, creating all the protective parts a knight might need when out on the town with his crew.

We had a great time exercising our crafty muscles at our Pinspired evening Friday night! The ladies made fabulous Junk Jewelry Trees, got handy with a wood dremel and made tacky tacks look cool! I watched as they created, chatting with girlfriends and focusing to the core on being in the moment while treasures bloomed from their working hands and inspired thoughts.

Plastic Knives!
It seems like one way or another there is always too much of some part of the kit of utensils. Lucky for us we have oodles of these to make into many things cool. I bet the hot glue gun will come in handy here!
Artistic exploration is fun, especially when it involves colorful layers and fun characters!
It all started with a piece of paper, like a story unfolding through the pages of a book. The story had to have a rainbow. Where there’s a rainbow there must be friends. Reyley liked all things pretty. She hand picked each toy and treasured to help tell the story of her rainbow scene. It was fun to watch how mother and daughter talked about and layer out this story. They spent time talking, coloring, taping, gluing and bonding. Set against the foundation of their creative project, mommy and me time was richly shared.
