Hashtag Highlight #11

This weeks highlights featured all things styrofoam, a cardboard swashbuckling cat and thoughts on a piece of art @createstudio

Weekly WOW!

Nicholas gets a nod for most ingenious and practical reuse of non recyclable materials!
He cleverly played with two heavy plastic materials that when put together the way he did became a fetching end table for his room (he plans to spray paint it red). He didn’t know the primary table components are not so earth friendly but with his touch they became somewhat so. Now his table with a conscience will provide his room with flair and a good place to set things down.

A bit of this and that this week made up our Instagram posts. Music at a great concert, our love of cardboard turned carrier and tank, a feathery rainbow eliciting smiles and a stealth Submarine of all things plastic made more art fun for everyone @createstudio

Weekly WOW

Anantya likes to make dolls. She has even made them at the studio before but never has she made one so small. Standing just under 6 inches when placed on a doll stand Anantya made to display her, she has style and flair.
With bits of fabrics that caught Anantya’s eye she worked with quiet ease to complete this stylishly contemporary character that would fare well on any runway , perfectly accessorized and ready to play.

Weekly Wow!

Felt!
When Marni and her mom came into the studio the other day there was a plan in place. Marni wanted to make a cat. She didn’t know how or why but a cat it must be. After scouting her options it was decided that she would make a felt cat and drew out a plan to make it.
The whole kitty was simple, comprised of felt, pillow fluff, hot glue, a little collar and a drawn face. Felt can be a little hard for small hands to cut so there was some mommy assistance in the process . Marni was so pleased with her creation, she got inspired by some other crafters at the studio and wanted to make a mermaid too, so that we did together.
Felt is so fun to work with, no wonder it is a crafting core material.

We’ve had these samples before. They make great necklace pendants, tiles for tabletop rooms or walls for fortresses, and that’s just the beginning…
