Weekly Wow!

Brilana puttered with many crafty projects on her visit to the studio this particular day but this sock friend gave me a smile in the throws of a particularly active day. She saw something in this simple little ballet style sock that inspired her so she went with it. Sometimes those are the best projects, the one’s that ask for very little to come to life but grant the biggest return in personal satisfaction.

Messy Toddlers

We are so excited to embark on our “yes to mess” journey especially tailored to the 18 mo. to 3yr crowd. The world through these young eyes is an endlessly beautiful place.

Color

My kids and I just got back from a trip to San Francisco. That town is chocked full of wonders for the eyes, for all the senses. I was drawn to this view down a quiet street near Union Square. The street on the whole looked a bit quiet and monochromatic but thoughts in color splash a section to make you stop and ponder…
The world has so much to say. It seems best said it n color.

I love to see how scraps of this or that become something unique and special with only inspiration (and maybe a little hot glue) as the guide. These forgotten bits of fabric come together beautifully to make a carry-all for life’s special little things.

A Rock!
Patsy has always been drawn to rocks. Smooth rocks are the best.

The girls had a mother – daughter date to the studio for some special time together. As seasoned creators they dove right into their crafty process and two became collectors of all things natural for a series of bird houses they were making. As things progressed they realized the houses needed birdies and Patsy had an idea! She could incorporate her love of rocks here. She had been eying some materials that inspired her so she went with it. The result is the sweetest little bird on a perch. I just wanted to take it home!

Socks are one of the best materials to create with at the studio when it comes to making favorite characters from movies. Since they are usually soft and squishy too they often allow for cuddling when the creative process is done so creative play becomes the next level in a creative adventure.

Elena, like most kids these days, loves the movie Frozen. She even knows all the songs so it’s no surprise that she would find herself creating the endearing snowman, Olaf . She and her mom crafted every detail right down to his lone tooth when all was said and done. What a great afternoon they had making their happy sock creation and what memories they will keep about their special afternoon creating together.
