What a great event this was!
Being amidst a buzz of ecological mindedness that permeated every city activity, vendor booth and attending guest was inspiring. We had such fun with our PAUSE4Kids friend and founder Keri Bowers and all the PAUSE gang as we teamed up to provide all kinds of crafty fun for everyone!
CReATE’s specialties of the day were water bottle sun catchers and revamped ceramic camera banks donated by our friends at Wendy Lou Accessories.
As a friend once told me “We don’t own the earth, we are just the caregivers for the next generation” (unknown)
How true that is. Participating in activities and events that encourage our stewardship for Mother Earth help us help our future and our future’s future.

Looking for something
Saturday, April 5, 2014Lena’s mommy takes her many places around our nestled area and ventures to the Greater lands of Los Angeles too. Todays adventures have lead them to CReATE on the look out for something special. If you ask me they have found it in little miss Lena. I understand she loves to paint and I can see that by what she is drawn to, the easels. She spent her visit creating among other things a trio of mixed media collages that remind me of an I Spy book where the more you look the more you find.
Yes, I’d say something special is definitely right under our noses.

These disposable plastic treasures reminds me of tiny jet packs or little fishes in a stream… lots of possibilities.

Monday, March 31, 2014Rubber Stamps are the unsung hero’s of creative expression!
Out of the mouths of babes this wow creation stamps out an expression and make’s it stick to our thoughts with its whimsical and colorful imagery. I want to tune into my own gifts and take note of the gifts of others when I ponder what this visual implies.
Mommy and Me
Friday, March 28, 2014Nolan had a flip book he had made. He brought it in to show me. It was a story about a bee and how he stung a spider. He loved the story so much he wanted to make a diorama of a scene from the book so that’s what he and his mom, Roanna were going to do.
I think Roanna had a bit more fun with the the diorama and Nolan had a bit more fun with his flip book and showing everyone how to draw a bee. At the end of their visit they had a moving diorama of their hero bee.
Love it!
Happy Nature
Friday, March 28, 2014We started off this week with a happy sign from Mother Nature. She teaches me daily the art of seeing in the unseen, the artful nature of things. What a marvelous order exists in twigs and branches and other things she shares.

Monday, March 24, 2014Madison and her Dad came into the studio yesterday with a plan. She had a bag of felt scraps in hand and wanted to make a blanket. The two of them sat at a table with hot glue ready as they figured through Madison’s vision of what the blanket would be. They worked and worked until her vision was made, a story quilt about a day with a dad and his daughter.
The blanket is a keepsake and most definitely wow worthy. As dad said when they packet up to leave, “this piece is going on the wall at home”.

Sunday, March 23, 2014These cardboard cut-outs can be laced together to create sculptures or structures-you choose.
Of course they can also be cut or glues or taped up too. What they become is entirely up to you.
Mother Nature’s Art
Sunday, March 23, 2014Supreme artist Mother Nature strikes my fancy every time.
Just a walk down the street she caught my eye with her lively painted flowers. The oranges and yellows so vibrant I couldn’t help but be one of the people you see on the side of the road capturing a moment on their phone.
I love the way nature, like art calls your attention, look! Do I make you feel, do I call on your memories, do I bring you into the moment you’re in?
Yes Mother Nature, Yes Art, you do.
