Reuse Day 1

Here we go with #30daysofreuse

Lest start with tins, we have a batch of tins we are readying for reuse at the studio for creative purposes but tins can be great for practical reuse too. Reuse them to hold a mini sewing kit, first aide kit for a purse, backpack or briefcase or to hold little mementos. The have way more life in them than just their durable package. Let us know how you reuse yours!

Clever…

CReATE is as much a place for connection as it is for creation. I am getting some wow worthy information about color from my friend Isaac.

One of the best things I have learned at CReATE is that kids, all kids, all ages are continuously briming with thoughts, curiosities and ideas. Its so fun to observe this process unfold in them through their hands on ways.

I think that’s the sum of creativity for all of us. Creativity flow.

Women

Today’s Girls Club class was both inspiring and fun as the girls learned about women in science, got to hear from and talk to a Tech Industry CIO and explored science based fun with everyday items.

Believe…

We fancy ourselves a robot making factory. If you can imagine it, you can make it.

Lots of kids like to make robots at CReATE. Robots and recyclables are meant to go together. They make great robot parts. Having ideas, then making them into something physical is what creativity is all about. Believe in your ideas. They can become real.

Community

Really gratful to have collaborated with these awesome ladies from Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families and Glamour Party Girls. Together we created an eco fashion show for good in our community yesterday. Great day!

Its so nice to be a part of a community that looks out to one another. The Conejo Valley is like that. There are so many people who care about the needs of others. We can always count on support for ideas that speak to kindness and connection. This time we added a sprinkle of environmental awareness too. With Earth Day around the corner that will be getting a spotlight to.

I love  this picture captured by Kelly of Glamour Party Girls during our fashion show today benefiting Casa Pacifica.

We were both inspired by this dress made by an AP Environmental student. Capri Sun juice pouches and duck tape were all she used. Thinking outside the box in so many ways. Now that’s sweet.

Yahoo!

We got a 5 star review from Belen, age 7. I think we owe it to our rapping birds.

We love our two Zebra Finches, White Moon and Black Heart. They are very much  part of our studio home. Kids love to watch them when they come to the studio.

I bet WM and  BH didn’t know they were thought of as rappers, beat box would be more their style. Even a birds sing has its own creative flair.

Our Fashion Show!

CReATE STUDIO and Glamour Party Girls @glamourpartygirls are so excited to be hosting an Eco Fashion Show this Saturday, 3/25, 2pm at CReATE!

Hurray for Girls Club!

We are so happy to be a part of Cindy Willimas’ Girls Club movement. Hosted at CReATE, Cindy’s meetings tailored to 4&5th grade girls with an emphasis on individuality, confidence, respect, kindness and friendship fortified girls with the tools they’ll need to feel good about who they are in our fast paced world and contribute with confidence.

Learn more about Cindy by clicking the Conejo Valley Advuce Givers Podcast link below. Hear from an interview with  Jay and Michelle Leiberman where she came from and what she stands for. Our girls need a guide like her.
