D.I.Y. at Home…

Have any egg cartons laying around? This egg carton owl is a super cool diy-at-home project that we like to use at the studio all the time.

To make it, grab an egg carton and cut the lid  away from the tray then cut it on half. One half becomes the owl body.

Then, cut the tray side of the carton into sections of two across. One set of two tray cups becomes the eyes (you get many more eyes than bodies with each carton)

Then, set the two eyes onto the half lid at the cut end and glue in place.

Now you have an owl!

Lastly, find stuff that’s ok to use or reuse at home to jazz  up your owl to your liking.

Seeing possibilities…

When you have a hanger you’ve gotta have something to hang on it…

These paper dresses are the perfect solution to empty hanger syndrome and easy on the budget too.

Kids left to their own devices at CReATE tend to be so clever.

Big Days…

When we say art fun for everyone we mean mean it and more. Last month we had the pleasure of being a D.I.Y. spot for Liz’s wedding decor for her big day.

Liz and our friend Michelle yarn bombed  wine bottle centerpieces, made lovely swaggy banners, pretty little hair clips for bridesmaids and delicate hangers for the bridesmaids dresses.

It was a joy to be a part of creating such meaningful wares.
Do you have special event you want to D.I.Y. Contact us, we’d love to help do it your way for your special day.

Reuse…

This turtle friend is an avid recycler, just note his pasta lid shell.

We think it’s awesome when kids see possibilities in the unseen, unnoticed cast-off items people consider trash. Their creativity is flowing…

Weekly WOW!

Hana (11) loves to make collage boards as birthday gifts for friends and family.

To make these she took  care searching for just the right images and materials to express how much she cares. Here she created a board for her dad, her friend and her teacher. So thoughtful. WoW.

Creating at home…

We had a fun idea at our Pinspired Night for something crafty to do at home.

If you have clips or clothes pins laying around, go on a hunt for little trinkets or treasures to glue on one side of them. Then they can can clipped  to paperwork, snack bags, lamp shades or message borards.

We are sure that doing so will jazz up your day. So, make it a crafternoon and get started!

Troop Time

We’ve noticed that Girl Scout troops are gearing up for fall and meeting plans.

We’re thinking about the wonderful world of SWAPS, small pin-on trinkets troops make in quantity to swap with other troops at camp outs and events. CReATE is your one stop creations shop for  SWAP making fun.
