Sparking Creativity

One of the perks of summer camp field trips to CReATE are catching creativity as it sparks in the counselors attending.
Looks like these cassette tapes are becoming fast friends after Camp Agoura Hills hit our scene.
Often creativity is sparked when in an environment that fosters it, be it a board meeting, a coffee clatch or in this case, a camp visit to our studio. The best part is, when creativity is shared it grows and the whispers of it flow long after that shared moment. It follows the creators to other moments and tasks where it may be needed. Nice to know that the positivity of creativity fosters more of the same.

Poolside…

If you can imagine it, it can be.
Leah (12) made lounge furniture for her American Girl Dolls. Looks like a few little ladies will be sitting poolside in style.

Weekly WOW!

Weekly WOW!
Always know your roots they say.
This creation is a throwback to the pre-ginning of CReATE. Years back my kids and I got in the zone making this birthday party beach scene with broken bits and old knick knacks from my grandma’s (Darling’s) house.
We spent a summer afternoon outdoors creating it, letting whimsy and imagination take us to this Happy land one item at time and it was magic, something I wanted to repeat and share.

Finding Inspiration

Christina was a little inspired by Finding Dory I think…aren’t these Octopi sweet?
It’s super to have a spark of inspiration stay with you long after the initial flicker. I imagine there is a lot more Dory inspired fun to be had this summer. Let’s play!

Thoughtful

Marley didn’t get to celebrate Father’s Day with her dad on Sunday so she came to the studio and made him a special present today. She made a  portrait of the two of them. What a treasure.
